Stefan Morent will teach as Visiting Professor at the Unversity of Berkeley.
He will take part in a symposion on Medieval Music with Benjamin Bagby/Sequentia during his performances of the "Beowulf" epos and teach a Graduate Seminary on Medieval Music within the Department of Classics and the Medieval Studies Program.

Teaching within the 7th Interdisciplinary Medieval Summer Academy of the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and of the Mediävistenverband e. V.


Stefan Morent has been invited to teach from 24.-28.09.07 at the 7th Interdisciplinary Medieval Summer Academy.
In collaboration between the Heinrich-Heine-University Düsseldorf and the Mediävistenverband e. V. the Medieval Academy is dedicated this year to A Culture of Memory: Forms, functions and contexts of memory.

Masterclass Academy for Medieval Music within the State Academy Ochsenhausen


From 06.-09.09.07 Stefan Morent will be teaching at the Academy for Medieval Music within the State Academy at Ochsenhausen.
The topic of the masterclass will be Working with Medieval Music: Basic skills and techniques The masterclass will be led by Benjamin Bagby, Ensemble Sequentia/Universite de Sorbonne, Paris: voice, harp, lyre, Susanne Ansorg, Ensemble Ordo Virtutum: fiddle, medieval strings, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Stefan Morent, Ensemble Ordo Virtutum/University of Tübingen: performance practice, musicology.
At the end of the masterclass there will be a concert Fragments from the end of time - Music around 1000 with the ensembles Sequentia and Ordo Virtutum in the romanesque church of St. George's on the island of Reichenau/Lake of Constance that is part of the UNESCO world cultural heritage.
